Gaja
2018 Gaia & Rey Chardonnay, Gaja, Piedmont White | Still | 14.5%

First bottled in 1983, it was named after Lucia and Angelo Gaja's daughter, Gaia Gaja, and Angelo Gaja's grandmother Clotilde Rey. It was the first commercially made Chardonnay in Piedmont, and shows incredible texture, depth, and spicy complexity. A legendary wine, with lots of freshness in 2018.

The 2017 Barbaresco from Gaja is a really beautiful wine. Notes of rose petal and blood orange give a hint of the wine's freshness and lift. The palate is textured and finessed, with amazing depth of flavour, and just a touch of tar and tapenade. This is a multilayered, complex Nebbiolo, from one of the masters.
